What follows is a listening proposal to which we are not much accustomed. It is an environmental recording made inside the Drop on Wednesday 7 January 2026. The author of the recording is the musician and sound artist Attila Faravelli.
Thanks to Attila's microphones, we will discover that the distant noise of the city, with its deep and grave voice, reaches right inside the Drop. Thanks to the gestures and actions performed by Attila, we will also discover that the sound of the landscape is also the fruit of our interaction with it.
During the course of this short journey, finally, we will meet a welcome guest: a book by the writer Philip Roth. The recording is preceded and followed by a brief dialogue between Attila Faravelli and Ivan Carozzi, curator and editorial coordinator of this blog.
We recommend listening calmly and attentively and, above all, since the recording contains many low frequencies, not to use your phone's speakers.
Happy listening.
